Route 2 Athletics

Route 2 Athletics is dedicated to help players of all ages learn the game of baseball and to reach their full potential . We believe in teaching and building upon the fundamentals of baseball and helping grow the game at the youth level in surrounding areas.  We offer numerous training options such as private instruction, small group instruction, camps, clinics, and travel teams.  In addition, we offer tailor made programs for local youth baseball programs.  All of our programs are offered at our  indoor facility located at 30 Park Ave, Arlington, MA or local baseball fields.

Upcoming Clinic Offerings

Small Group Hitting Clinics

Route 2 Athletics will be offering small group hitting clinics for players 9 to 12 years old with Coach Pat Maher and Coach Mike Hart.  These clinic will focus on all aspects of the swing.

Group #1-  11/30, 12/7, 12/14 and 12/21 from 4 to 5pm-  Sold Out!

Group #2- 11/30, 12/7, 12/14 and 12/21 from 4 to 5pm- Sold Out!

Group #3- 11/30, 12/7 and 12/14 from 5 to 6pm. -Sold Out!

Group #4- 11/30, 12/7 and 12/14 from 5 to 6pm. -One Spot!

Group #5- 12/1, 12/8, 12/15 and 12/22 from 4 to 5pm.- Two Spots Left!

Johhny Adams and Anthony Meo join the Route 2 Staff

Route 2 Athletics welcomes Johnny Adams and Anthony Meo.  Johnny will be available for a brief time to teach hitting and defensive lessons.  Anthony is available for pitching lessons.

 

Johnny Adams

Walpole High School Baseball 

4 year starting SS, Boston College, Sr. Captain 

Cape Cod All-Star , Manny Robello 10th player award (Harwich)

3 years in Seattle Mariners Organization, over 300 career games in      professional baseball 

Passion for teaching the game and the fundamentals of playing   defense 

Have been giving lessons since college and during off seasons for    professional baseball 

 

Anthony Meo

High School - Cranston West High School, Cranston RI

First team All-State selection his final two seasons

Helped Cranston West to back-to-back state championships .Was the state championship's Most Valuable Player after going 9-0 with a 0.77 earned-run average his junior year

College - Coastal Carolina

All American all 3 years at Coastal Carolina

A consensus All-American in 2010, was voted a first team All-Big South pick in each of his three years at Coastal and was the 2010 Big South Pitcher of the Year. For his career, Meo posted 32-7 record - being the only player in CCU and Big South history to win at least 30 games in a three-year career, and has a career ERA of 2.52, which is a Big South record.

A Golden Spikes semifinalist in 2010, Meo was 13-2 (18 games, 16 starts) as a sophomore, earning Big South Pitcher of the Year honors as numerous All-American honors.

Pro- Arizona Diamondbacks -2nd round draft selection 63rd overall


Jon Morse joins the Route 2 Staff

Route 2 Athletics welcomes Jon Morse to the Staff.  Jon will be working with the Blue Sox teams and is available for lessons.  His Bio is below.

 

  • Three Year Starter at Arlington High School (Arlington, MA) 2001-2004 & GBL All-Star (2004)

 

  • Three Year Starter at Southern New Hampshire University (2004-2007)
    • Led Team in ERA in 2007 with 1.90 ERA (52 innings pitched)

 

  • Yawkey Baseball League 2004-2016
    • Played with Somerville Alibrandis
    • 62-14 regular season record (Most Regular Season Wins in Yawkey Baseball League History)
    • 647 Total Strikeouts (2nd All-Time)
    • 22-5 playoff career record (Most Playoff Wins in Yawkey Baseball League History)
    • 10x Yawkey League Champion
    • 9x All-Star
    • Post-Season Co-MVP (2010)
    • 2.08 Career ERA in 642 innings pitched
    • 84 Career Wins (Most in Yawkey Baseball League History) 

 

  • Minutemen Baseball 2013-2020
    • Program Director and Head Coach of Minutemen Baseball teams 11u-17u
    • Helped Develop 30+ Players Commit to their College/ University of choice

College Baseball Players Winter Membership

Route 2 Athletics will be offering use of the facility for college baseball players during  winter break on the  following dates and times!

Dates: 11/19, 11/24, 12/1, 12/3, 12/8,12/10,12/15, 12/17, 12/22, 12/29, 12/31, 1/5, 1/7, 1/12 and 1/14.

Times: 10am to 12pm. 

Cost:  $225 for unlimited use on the dates above.
