Route 2 Athletics

Route 2 Athletics is dedicated to help players of all ages learn the game of baseball and to reach their full potential . We believe in teaching and building upon the fundamentals of baseball and helping grow the game at the youth level in surrounding areas.  We offer numerous training options such as private instruction, small group instruction, camps, clinics, and travel teams.  In addition, we offer tailor made programs for local youth baseball programs.  All of our programs are offered at our  indoor facility located at 30 Park Ave, Arlington, MA or local baseball fields.

Upcoming Clinic Offerings

Small Group Catching Clinic

Route 2 Athletics will be offering a caching clininc organized and run by Mike Hart.  The clininc will focus on all aspects of catching: receiving, footwork, blocking, different stance types, giving signs, and throwing.

This clinic will be limited to 8 players, ages 13-18.

Dates: 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 11/26 and 12/3

Cost: $329.00

Time: 7 to 8pm


 MIchael Hart of Lowell, MA, has played and coached all over the world. Starting as an All Conference catcher at Lowell High School, Hart played his summers for the Lexington Blue Soxs of the IBL. After winning the 2015 IBL MVP and batting title, Hart walked on at Umass Amherst. Later earning himself a starting spot and scholarship as a redshirt sophomore. He also spent time with the Seacoast Mavericks of the Collegiate FCBL, coming in 2nd in the MVP and batting title race. Graduating Umass as their 2017 Co-Captain, Hart went and played in both Canada and Australia before getting his first professional start with the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball Winter League. From there he signed with the American Association Sioux Falls Canaries. Leading the team in batting average in 2018, and having a career year in 2019 being named to the A.A. All-Star team and taking home the Rookie of the Year honors. He has spent time running clinics for the Lexington Blue Sox summer programs. As well as spending 2016 with the Seacoast Mavericks as their hitting, catching and agility coach. In Australia, Hart ran the Rockingham Rams organization for two seasons, leading week long camps and coaching the top tier teams. Before heading back to spring training in April.

Strength and Arm Care Program with Coach Matt-  Sold Out!  Next session will be announced soon!

This program is designed to strengthen and protect the throwing arm and shoulder.  The program will build arm strength, core and lower body strength, while working on proper arm path and injury prevention.

Concentrated Areas will include: Medicine Balls, Arn Band Training, Core Strength and Proper Arm Path.  

Days: Mondays  and Wednesdays from 7 to 8pm 

Dates: 10/7, 10/9, 10/14, 10/16, 10/21, 10/23, 10/28, 10/30, 11/4, 11/6, 11/11, 11/13, 11/18, 11/20 and 11/25

Time: 7 to 8pm

Ages: 13-18

Cost: $429

Congratulations to the 17U Blue Sox Team who finished 7th in Perfect Games New England Polls and received a national honorable mention.  

This is a well deserved recognition for the team who had an incredible summer!
