Facility Closed from 8:30pm on 10/28 to 3pm on 11/1

The Facility will be closed from 8:30pm on 10/28 to 3pm on 11/1.  During this time we will be updating and fixing the cages. We will reopen on 11/1 in the late afternoon for Blue Sox activities and 11/2 for lessons.  As a reminder  we will not be opened for cage rental until at least January of 2021!

Route 2 Athletics

Route 2 Athletics is dedicated to help players of all ages learn the game of baseball and to reach their full potential . We believe in teaching and building upon the fundamentals of baseball and helping grow the game at the youth level in surrounding areas.  We offer numerous training options such as private instruction, small group instruction, camps, clinics, and travel teams.  In addition, we offer tailor made programs for local youth baseball programs.  All of our programs are offered at our  indoor facility located at 30 Park Ave, Arlington, MA or local baseball fields.

Jon Morse joins the Route 2 Staff

Route 2 Athletics welcomes Jon Morse to the Staff.  Jon will be working with the Blue Sox teams and is available for lessons.  His Bio is below.

  • Three Year Starter at Southern New Hampshire University (2004-2007)
    • Led Team in ERA in 2007 with 1.90 ERA (52 innings pitched)

    • 62-14 regular season record (Most Regular Season Wins in Yawkey Baseball League History)
    • 647 Total Strikeouts (2nd All-Time)

    • 9x All-Star
    • Post-Season Co-MVP (2010)
    • 2.08 Career ERA in 642 innings pitched

College Baseball Players Winter Membership

Route 2 Athletics will be offering use of the facility for college baseball players during  winter break on the  following dates and times!

Dates: 11/19, 11/24, 12/1, 12/3, 12/8,12/10,12/15, 12/17, 12/22, 12/29, 12/31, 1/5, 1/7, 1/12 and 1/14.

Times: 10am to 12pm. 

Cost:  $225 for unlimited use on the dates above.

Upcoming Clinic Offerings

Small Group Catching Clinic

Route 2 Athletics will be offering a caching clinic organized and run by Mike Hart.  The clinic will focus on all aspects of catching: receiving, footwork, blocking, different stance types, giving signs, and throwing.

This clinic will be limited to 6 players, ages 10-13 (Session I) and 14-18 (Session II).

Dates: 11/4,11/11,11/18,12/2,12/9 and 12/16

Cost: $259.00

Time: 5 to 6pm- JUST ADDED (AGES 11-15)- Three spots left!

           6 to 7pm- Session I (Ages 10-13)  SOLD OUT!

           7 to 8pm- Session II (Ages 14-18) SOLD OUT!


 Michael Hart of Lowell, MA, has played and coached all over the world. Starting as an All Conference catcher at Lowell High School, Hart played his summers for the Lexington Blue Soxs of the IBL. After winning the 2015 IBL MVP and batting title, Hart walked on at Umass Amherst. Later earning himself a starting spot and scholarship as a redshirt sophomore. He also spent time with the Seacoast Mavericks of the Collegiate FCBL, coming in 2nd in the MVP and batting title race. Graduating Umass as their 2017 Co-Captain, Hart went and played in both Canada and Australia before getting his first professional start with the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball Winter League. From there he signed with the American Association Sioux Falls Canaries. Leading the team in batting average in 2018, and having a career year in 2019 being named to the A.A. All-Star team and taking home the Rookie of the Year honors. He has spent time running clinics for the Lexington Blue Sox summer programs. As well as spending 2016 with the Seacoast Mavericks as their hitting, catching and agility coach. In Australia, Hart ran the Rockingham Rams organization for two seasons, leading week long camps and coaching the top tier teams. Before heading back to spring training in April.
